  after finally getting out of the grip of thunderbolts, satana wanted nothing more than HER OWN kind of freedom. moving back to what she did best — sucking out souls of people that had it coming — she’s in the streets again. this verse is after her death and resurrection, but BEFORE she comes and takes her rightful place as a queen in hell and before she tries to poison doctor strange. this is her unaffiliated, however not minding to team up with any of the heroes. that, of course, should not mean — and nobody should believe the ILLUSION — that she’s a hero herself.

  tired of losing people she cares about satana finally realizes that the ONLY way to save them ( if they’re going to hell out of sheer stupidity ) & so many others that don’t belong being tortured in the depths of hell is to take her own dimension and accept the crown she was born entitled to ( besides... who doesn't like a crown on their head? ). the queen of hell. the title of DEVIL’S DAUGHTER doesn’t matter anymore and her hell is nothing but unique. building a whole town, bars, restaurants ( and so on, and on ) she makes it as different from what she’s seen before as possible so the lost souls that she snatches from her father’s claws could have a nice ( as nice as hell can be ) place to stay forever. a brand new hell needs attractions and nothing invites people to jump in than superheroes dragged there against their will.

  in this verse by default, satana is unaffiliated and it is the most flexible verse of all. she is either a daughter of satan or of one of the archdemons, depends on the plot. abilities/powers and her species remain the same, but as for anything else, this version of her can be thrown into any kind of fandom.
  
  
• spn; the soul gatherer.
  born as a cambion, alastair’s child, satana lost her mother just a touch too soon. at the age of six she was taken by demons who smelled the hybrid out and together with her father took upon teaching her hell’s ways. at the beginning being quite the eager student, she eventually began pushing everything demonic away, not wanting to participate in unnecessary bloodshed and torment, seeking to dive into the more humane part of herself. it didn’t go well with her father and her rebellion was abruptly ended, the hybrid creature torn apart, cursed with the mix of alastair’s power and imagination to roam between worlds, never belonging anywhere — to become a soul gatherer, a HELLHOUND like creature ( magic in her veins required fuel, souls being the best for it ), and wait for lucifer’s coming. with alastair’s death, satana pushed herself away from hell, refusing to kneel before another tyrant — king or queen, or anything in between — and left. now, she still collects——eats souls, taking their energy and giving back the skeleton to hell, and whilst this part of her life is unavoidable, the chimera is finally learning how to live free.

  if high school is tough for a human, imagine how much harder it is when you are part demon, your mother divorced your father for doing weird ass sacrificial rituals in your basement ( honestly.. ) and your brother spreads a rumor throughout the school that every full moon you get — wait for it —— possessed. in a town superstitious as it is, those kinds of rumors stick fast and for long, locking the doors away not only to various opportunities, but to any friendship too. well, fiery temper — and idiotic name — doesn’t help either when she is more than willing to offer her left hook to anyone who steps on the miniature devil’s tail.
  
  human; i'm the trigger; you're the gun.
  a daughter of an UNNAMED crime lord, (sat)ana has always been expected to become like her brother, a gun, or marry one of her father’s picks. when she’s old enough to make a decision, she chooses the former and goes on the path of blood & money. at some point something clicks inside of her head and she switches from being the gun to the trigger. over a random operation she is the one to POINT, realizing that being able to plan ( although, her plans are short-lived and improvisation-stuffed; aka, not plans at all ) and have someone at her side to do the DIRTIEST job of eliminating and dropping off is much easier. she still finds the thrill turning between the people with veins frozen over and hearts gone, pushing buttons is what she does best —— she still finds the power of seeing a gun pointed at the other side sweet & isn’t planning to get at the wrong side of her own weapon any time soon.

  around sixty years after her main ( first ) verse, after hellcat's inevitable death, satana is a queen since years ago, but something keeps bringing her back to earth. it's when she's 'attacked' by a hero that looks exactly like trish that everything turns upside down. taunted by demons pretending to be her long lost lover for a long time, she doesn't react too well. there's that something about trish walker, however, that while she may not believe, but can't seem to stay away.

about

satana hellstrom is a demon/succubus/hybrid from marvel comics. this version of her is mostly earth-616 and my own interpretation. she’s the sister of daimon hellstrom who, in her own words, was a ‘hellspawn who almost became a priest’, a daughter of satan or arch demon — depends on who you ask — and a future queen of hell.

while her upbringing made her think of herself as utterly evil, it is not the case and she can be compassionate and kind, doesn't feel hatred towards humanity or any other species. satana is rather moody, the ‘worse’ side of her sometimes takes over and she acts first, thinks later. on her better days, one can find a playful, clever, albeit a little unpredictable and eccentric companion who is always eager to get into a new adventure.

she wouldn’t ever kill or hurt anyone without a good reason, however if a person is disrespectful or tries to hurt her first/imprison her, she’ll gladly break a few bones. while is known to take souls and either bring them to hell or eat them up (erase them from existence, i guess?) she never does it just because. she's been battling her own demonic urges for ages and is trying to be good, which means that unless the person deserves to be punished, they're as safe next to her as it can be.

personality

• EMOTIONAL STABILITY: satana has... no chill. she gets angry quick, but her anger is usually more of a childish/petty kind than all breaking rage. it’s quite hard to break her emotionally, even if she sometimes seemes like not the most stable of people — hell did a good job raising a beast instead of a girl.
• LURES: mayhem, fun. she is a thrill seeker, she’s easily bored and constantly searching for a new distraction. would it be a riot, a fight, taunting someone or hounding them to no end, or anything else that she could possibly see as exciting. she loves the unexplored, the odd. often relates more to those who are labeled as 'monsters' and seeks out their company whenever possible.
• LIKES: animals, alcohol, haunted houses ( attractions and real ones ), carrots, flowers, burgers, junk food, exorcists, candies, snow
• DISLIKES: proper meals, pies, cookies, anything with crust except toasts, heat, chicken ( except chicken nuggets ), poor fashion choices, devil worshippers, her brother and all of his pals.

brief history

from the very beginning, her soul was tainted and licked by the flames of hell, reaching up like arms of a lover. her brother’s path left a bitter taste in her mouth as her father grasped her ankles and dragged her to the pit. and there? time does not exist, especially if one lets themselves be consumed by the imposed fate and role in their life.

satana never considered herself to be good. from the day one, her father repeated the same old song to her, and to her brother: you are EVIL, you are creatures with lethal touch and bloodied mouths, made to rip humanity apart searching for those meant for HELL instead of singing heavens. daimon refused to believe such a thing, deciding to use his powers for good, whilst satana was more than willing to succumb to the darkness that called for her — and thus, the siblings were parted with hatred towards each other.

she ripped the crust of earth apart to crawl back out, a devious woman with sharp tongue and mind even SHARPER. there would be no mercy for those who chose the path of hurtful mistakes. she was hungry, her skin heated, her grip — STRONG. in the streets taking one life after another, leaving path of dried up bones, dissolving into night like syrup into water.

powers

Life-Force Absorption: As a succubus, she feeds on the souls of people. Her touch kills her victims, causing them to shrivel and release the soul in a butterfly like form. Satana would then capture the butterfly to feed on it. When she takes people’s souls, she gains power from them and it increases her magical powers. Apparently it does not work on vampires.

Superhuman Strength: Satana is much stronger than an ordinary human, though the upper limits of her strength are unknown, it’s guessed she can easily lift tons.

Superhuman Durability: Satana is more resistant to damage than an ordinary human, though the upper limits of her durability are unknown.

Flight: Satana is able to levitate herself in order to fly.

Astral Projection: Satana can release her astral form from her body, instantaneously and at will.

Hellfire Manipulation: Satana possesses the ability to generate, control, and project hellfire (also known as soulfire) at will. Hellfire is an ethereal and supernatural flame that burns the soul of a person and can be used to burn their physical body.

Mind Control: Satana is able to enter and control the minds of others, that includes putting people into some kind of an illusion. a ‘sex dream’ is her favorite thing to cause.

Magic: Satana has shown that she possesses potent mystical power and often is said to be a ‘sorceress’ of sorts.

Most of these i’m not going to EVER touch, basically because it’s impossible to remember them all. however, they are going to be listed here (as they are canon for her) so if my character does something, it wouldn’t look like i am pulling this out of my ass.
i will NOT use any powers that could affect your character in a major way, aka mind control/curses/illusions/whatever else, unless plotted first, so there would be absolutely no god modding there.

weaknesses

when it comes to weaknesses, i’ll usually adapt, because marvel doesn’t provide with enough information. so far, it’s known that simple devil traps that work on other demons do not affect her, but those with ‘electric fence’ do. it’s vaguely mentioned that angels’ technology can capture her, therefore i am going to assume that things like angel’s blood can poison her, angel’s blade can destroy her body and send her back to hell (the closest thing to an exorcism for her), etc. simple blades and bullets still somewhat hurt her and she low key avoids them, but it’s something she can easily recover from. she does not fear churches (lives in an abandoned one), crosses, holy water. a bullet to her head/heart (the latter is harder to reach) will have her out for a longer time, probably for a few hours, unless force-woken-up sooner.

most important object

satana owns a book that she has taken from a mortal girl who managed to capture and lock her in the only devil’s trap that works. the book has a whole chapter on her, as a rightful queen of hell, and the drawing of the trap, made with angel’s technology. she keeps it somewhere safe from the eyes of the curious.

ethnic background

you don't have to read this!! i only wrote it out for myself and if someone gets curious or whatnot. it's a lot to read and it's a lot without it already, so it's just a little ( unnecessary ) extra.

i know that marvel doesn’t really provide her ethnic background, but since i’ve chosen eiza as her faceclaim and eiza is mexican, i figured i’d just go ahead and headcanon her whole family being mexican, too, which only made sense. so my headcanon is ( and it’s surely not canon, but it’s canon for this blog ) that satana’s family moved out of mexico in 1860′s, and they were a family of satanists which was the second reason they fled ( first being the french invasion ), changed their last name ( because satanists AND with the last name of hellstrom? come on. fake ) and disappeared into thin air if someone were to look for them. i think they were a big family, probably aunts and uncles and cousins, and so on, tight together, and were very loving towards their children, always guiding them towards learning and all ( didn’t push towards satanism either, i imagine there were a few who left it behind ).

skip forward to late 1940′s or early 1950′s when victoria hellstrom meets a mystery man ( satan in the flesh, marduk, who takes interest in the family. personally i don’t think satan cares about ethnic backgrounds, so he probably comes to her as something she wishes her man to look like ) and falls head over heels for him. they get married, she gets pregnant with her first child and he sees an opportunity. so he slowly pushes her away from the rest of the fam, very smoothly with sweet talk and promises and shit because satan, right? what a hoe. anyways, they leave to live in fire lake where she gives birth to the first child, daimon, a few years later — satana. so daimon’s kind of a disappointment right, because he isn’t into daddy’s bs and doesn’t wanna be a part of the satanist tradition, but satana? she loves dad’s attention and is very eager and into occultism and learns quick and she’s literally her father’s daughter, but eventually at the age of six her mother finds them both during a ritual, marduk reveals his true self and she loses her mind, later taking her own life.

so the only person who encouraged satana to dig into her roots and celebrate her origins was her mother, who is dead. daimon’s thrown into a foster home ( since i imagine no one knows from hellstrom family what happened ) and satana is taken by her father to hell. naturally, without anyone encouraging her, her background was forgotten till she became a teen with all rebellions and all that jazz. mostly, she would yell at her father in spanish and refuse to speak in english or any other language, especially if she was angry, but that was about it until she finally got back to earth for the last time after all the deaths, etc etc.

basically, she started taking interest and learning about her culture not too long ago, but she’s VERY happy about that and excited to learn more about where she’s from and about her mother even and all that was taken from her by her father.
